Troubleshooting Printhead Problems of Dye Sublimation Inkjet Printer

This article help identify and solve problems with the Printhead or ink cartridges on your Large Format Dye Sublimation Inkjet printer.

Printhead Error Messages
Note:
BEFORE YOU TROUBLESHOOT: Make sure your printer has the latest Dell firmware installed, for more information refer to Dell Knowledge Base article Download and Install the Dell Printer Firmware
 
These troubleshooting steps are to help resolve Printhead error messages such as:
There is a problem with the Printhead. Press the Help.
There is a problem with the Printhead. Please consult User’s Guide."
Unsupported Printhead.
 
1.Open the cover to remove the Printhead and ink cartridges (if installed). Carrier will come to the center automatically with the error, "The cover is open".
 
2.Remove the tanks (if installed) and place on a table, for more information refer to the  Removing and Reinserting (Reseat) the Ink Cartridges section.

3.Open Printhead latch and remove the Printhead, for more information refer to the  Removing and Reinserting (Reseat) the Printhead section.
 
4.Close the Printhead latch, close the printer cover, and confirm the error message no longer shows on the operator panel, if the issue persist, Contact Technical Support.
 
5.Open the cover, open the latch, and insert the Printhead only.
 
6.Firmly push down on Printhead then close the latch and cover.

7. If the message no longer shows on the operator panel, continue with normal installation steps for the ink cartridges, if the issue persist, continue to the next steps.
 
8.Open the cover, open the latch, remove and re-install the Printhead, close the latch and install the ink cartridges firmly.
 
9.Close the cover, if the issue persist, Contact Technical Support.
